Finally, someone at Hair Cuttery understands why people come in.

I just went out a little while ago to grab a bite of lunch and get my hair cut.  Conveniently located just down the street a bit from us is a Hair Cuttery.  Without fail, every time I go in there, I’m greeted by a blank stare wondering why I’m there.  “What can we do for you today?” or something along those lines is the typical greeting.  “Yeah, I’d like to get my oil changed, and have a soda.”  I said that once.  More blank stares.  Finally, I had to clue the girl into the fact that I’ve come into a Hair Cuttery to get this — get a haircut.

Today, I was greeted by Jenni, who, despite using a nickname that ends in I (which I utterly loathe), was not only very nice, but actually got the fact that I had in fact entered the Hair Cuttery in search of a haircut.  She wound up cutting my hair too, was pleasant to talk with and did a great job on my hair as well.  At least as good as one can do with my hair.  Thanks Jenni!

I often go to the Hair Cuttery for color, highlights or waxing, not necessarily for a haircut. Maybe that’s why they asked \What can we do for you today.\

Point taken, but then again, you’re a woman, I’m a man. Men go there for haircuts, at least all the men I’ve ever seen in one..

Lots of guys wax too! I know as my husband and his friends go to Hair Cuttery to remove the unsightly unibrow! I’ve also found the how can I help you kind of funny – like hamburger and soda please. But all in all I assume its a habit of make nice and I have recently found that Hair Cuttery does a great cut and style too. Worried but urged by my husband to try his girl (also a Jenny – although it must be a nick name as how many middle aged Asians are Jenny.) He said whny do you pay $30. bucks for something you can get for $16. I tried and I liked!

Ah, fortunately, I’m blessed with 2 distinct eyebrows.

Never seen a guy in there for waxing, only ever haircuts. Maybe it’s just NJ culture though…
